Secretariat

Representing teachers at all levels throughout the country, NTA has recruited teachers and staffs with expertise to work on tasks commissioned by the governing body, develop strategies to timely respond to education policy and legislations, conduct research and survey to reflect on policy recommendations, initiate programs to facilitate the bottom-up system of professional development, organize the unorganized teachers and supportive personnel, provide legal consultation and assistance on collective bargaining as well as filing appeals, complaints and class actions, partner with civil society and union movement on common issues, and contribute to the world of education through Education International. 

The general secretary leads the secretariat as commander on the ship with full supports from four deputies specialized in different areas of education. At present, there are nine sectors including:

-Social Movement and Advocacy
-International Affairs
-Legal Consultation
-Publicity and Communication
-Member’s Welfare
-IT Group

National Convention (General Assembly)

The annual National Convention serves as the highest governing body of NTA. Delegates shall be nominated by the representing member organizations and given recognition by the NTA board to serve three years of tenure. Resolutions on constitutional amendments, annual reports, budgets, urgent appeals from member organizations and policy recommendations are adopted after discussion and debate among delegates. In addition, triennial election and/or recall of board members shall be proceeded in line with the Convention to constitute the new team of governance.

Board of Directors

There are 35 elected member of the Board of Directors who are authorized the rights to elect and/or recall the NTA president, vice-president, managing Board of Directors, and personnel of the secretariat. They also bear the responsibilities to review new applicants or drop-outs, appoint qualified members representing NTA in governmental entities, account for negotiation of collective bargaining agreement as well as guiding principles of members’ employment contracts, and approve on join in or withdraw from organizations/alliance both in Taiwan and abroad. These Directors convene regular meetings every three months, working closely with the secretariat to execute resolutions adopted by the Convention. 

Board of Supervisors

The 11 elected members of the Board of Supervisors mainly focus on reviewing and monitoring the NTA fiscal situation to ensure effective implementation of work plans adopted by the Convention. They also convene meetings regularly on a three-month basis.
