- Participated in the modification of the Law of National Parks.
- Promoted the establishment of Macaw National Park.
- Demonstrated for “Rescuing the Forest in Taiwan”.
- Cohosted in the annual fine book selection activity with the eslite bookstore and China Times.
- Held public hearing on “the Formosa has become a toxic island” to examine our environmental policies.
- Promoted the “one-man, one letter” campaign to save virgin forests and successfully pressured the Council of Agriculture to totally ban the natural forest logging.
- Made public appeal for free software for reasonable school use and criticized Microsoft of high prices and monopoly.
- To depoliticize the campus, advocating no more politicians’ presence at students’ graduation ceremonies and no political maneuvering in education reform.
- Set up the Presidential Candidate’s Campaign Promises Review Team.
- Worked with Citigroup Foundation to promote the improvement of English teaching with several teacher’s seminars and activities; in addition, cooperated with the Foundation on conducting the Elementary School English Teaching Survey, press conference, and share the survey results with the public.
- Attended the Anti-Poverty League (Pan Purple).
